DANCE CLUB PERFORMANCE - JULY 2022

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CLUB - AUTUMN 2021

I have really enjoyed science club- thank you so much to all those children who have attended.

We carried out a wide range of different activities including: using lemons as batteries to power LEDs; the classic mentoes in cola 'explosions' (although we did test other fizzy drinks too); making red cabbage water as a universal indicator to test the pH of different liquids and using 'stomp' rockets. Here are a few photos of some of our activities which you may like to try at home in the next few weeks.

Skittle rainbows compared with mini-smarties (although I'm sure the children would prefer to eat them!)

Finding different ways to take our fingerprints

Floating a paper clip in a glass of water                              Making 'rockets' with ballons

CODING CLUB

Spring 2020

We have some exciting news! We have entered a competition to brighten up the daily routine of the astronauts on the International Space Station by showing them a message and the ambient air temperature on board using the Astro Pi computer’s Sense HAT.  We decided to cheer them up with a joke - How do you get a baby astronaut to sleep? You rock it!  This was our final program:

We used the online Sense HAT emulator to create a program, which will run in space on the International Space Station (ISS).  We will also receive a special certificate showing where exactly the ISS was when our program ran!

Over the weeks, we used our designs of 8X8 pictures to create different images for the Astro Pi's LED matrix. What do you think of our designs?
