2018 SUMMARY  - ATTAINMENT

Comparison with national results for 2018:

·       Attainment in 2018 was above the national average in all subjects, both at the expected standard and those working at greater depth or achieving a high scaled score in the test. In the majority of cases, attainment was at least 10% higher than the national average (indicated with a green line below the figure on the above table.

 

·       Our combined attainment in reading, writing and maths at the expected standard​ is 22% above the national average.

 

·       Our combined attainment in reading, writing and maths at the higher standard​ is 4% above the national average.

 

Comparison with school's own results from the previous year:​

 

·       Scaled scores: Our scaled scores increased in all subjects from last year (note, there is no scaled score for writing composition)​

 

·       Attainment at expected standard or above: This increased from 2017 in all subjects, in some cases significantly 

 

·       Attainment at greater depth (or pupils achieving a high score in the test):   This increased in  reading by 21%, maths by 24%, grammar, punctuation and spelling by 19%. In writing composition, the percentage at greater depth decreased by 1%

 

·       Combined attainment at the expected standard in reading, writing, maths:​ This increased by 16% in 2018

 

·       Combined attainment at the higher standard in reading, writing, maths:​​ This increased by 9% in 2018

 

2018 SUMMARY  - PROGRESS FROM KEY STAGE 1

Comparison with national results for 2018:

 

·       Progress measures in both reading and maths were above both the national and Essex averages. 

·       In writing, our progress is exactly in line with the Essex and national averages.

 

 

Comparision with school's own results from the previous year:​

 

·       Our school's  progress measures in reading ​ increased  by +0.97   and significantly in maths by  3.11 points.

·       We had a slight dip in our progress from 2017 (0.51 points) in writing composition.
